Schools to reopen from 8 March

Following the government’s announcement on Monday, schools will be reopening to pupils from 8 March.
Our schools will be in touch with you shortly about the arrangements for this return. We can’t wait to welcome your child back to school and to return to learning in the classroom again.
We know that some people may be feeling anxious about this. Please be assured that our schools have been continuously reviewing and improving their risk assessments in order to make the school safe for staff and children. You can find the up-to-date risk assessment on your school’s website. Our staff are being tested twice a week to help identify asymptomatic cases.
When children return, their teachers will support them to ensure that they catch up on any learning that they have missed. For those pupils who were due to take SATs, the government has confirmed that they won’t be going ahead this year. If bubble groups do need to self-isolate, children will temporarily return to the established remote learning system that is already in place.
If you have any questions or concerns about your child’s return to school or their learning, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with their school to talk this through.
As our schools prepare to open their gates once again, we would like to say a huge thank you to our families and our staff who have worked tirelessly to keep children learning both at home and in school. It has been a huge team effort and really has made a difference.
