Walker Primary School in the top 500

Walker Primary School in Southgate has been recognised as one of the top 500 schools in England.
The school featured at number 280 in The Sunday Times Parent Power 2024 league table. The results were published this month, just before parents found out which primary school their three and four-year-olds had been allocated for September. The 500 schools listed make up the top three per cent of the 16,783 primaries in England.
The schools are ranked on the percentage of pupils who achieved their expected grade in the 2023 SATs. Schools in London and the Southwest dominated the top spots in the table.
Raakhee Tailor, headteacher of Walker, said: “We’re thrilled to see Walker listed in the top 500 primary schools in the country. We are passionate about ensuring extraordinary outcomes for all who come through our door and this recognition is testament to the ambition of the whole school community.”
Raakhee adds: “Our children are curious and motivated learners, who thrive under our exceptional quality of teaching, and grow into confident, resilient and motivated young people. Walker children work hard and we are exceptionally proud of their progress.”
In Enfield, 92.6% of families received their first choice primary school this year and 98% were given a place at one of their top three listed schools.
