Musician and chef Levi Roots encouraged children to work hard, stay determined and follow their passion during a visit to an Enfield primary school.

The creator of the famous Reggae Reggae Sauce, who won the hearts of the British public when he appeared on Dragons’ Den, talked to pupils at Eastfield Primary School about his upbringing and how he was inspired by his grandmother.

He also performed a song, invited children to taste his famous sauce and gave out some goodies to pupils during his visit.

Roksana Hussain, Headteacher at Eastfield, says: “The children were so excited to meet Levi Roots and they loved singing along to his famous song and trying his sauce. Levi is a fantastic role-model because he came from a humble background and has achieved success with hard work, passion and drive. He showed the children that dreams can come true and they were really inspired by him.”

Levi wants to get young people excited about cooking and making music, as well as motivating them to succeed. He grew up in Jamaica and was brought to the UK by his parents when he was 12 years old.

In 2007, he shot to fame after his appearance on Dragons’ Den.
